Housing

Bentley Senior Citizens Housing Corporation, a volunteer board, manages Westview Apartments. This housing complex, situated close to downtown and recreational facilities, is a fourteen self-contained units with a common area. Application forms for this complex can be obtained at the municipal office.

Oxford Courts, managed by Lacombe Foundation, consist of six units, one of which is handicapped accessible. These units are located next door the Bentley Care Centre. Information can be obtained by contacting Lacombe Foundation at (403) 782-3811.

In the north-east portion of the Town is an adult living condominium style facility which are individually owned.

Bentley is also home to an adult living townhouse complex.

Drop-in Centre

Seniors are encouraged to attend the regular drop-in meetings and social gatherings held each Tuesday in the municipal office complex (4918 - 50 th Avenue). Birthdays, anniversaries, live entertainment, pot-luck lunches, games, dancing, exercise classes and road trips are some of the activities this active group take part in. Further information can be obtained by calling the municipal office who will direct you to someone who can help you.

Recreation/Social

Most of our seniors are very active in the community. One of the most popular sports during the winter season is curling. Two days are devoted to seniors curling each week as well as bonspiels during the season. A recent sport added in Bentley for the seniors is carpet bowling which takes place each week.

During the summer months, many seniors participate in horseshoes and practice each week for tournaments all over Alberta. Of course, there is the Drop-in Centre if you want to get together for a coffee. Many of our seniors also drop into the museum to help with the work categorizing, organizing and just to visit. There are also exercise classes, with classical music, offered to keep you physically fit. As a senior, you will not be bored.
